Hello, I’m Lorna. I’m a full time mum and carer with a Fine Art background, and I love ‘Granny Hobbies’. These days, my projects happen around life as a SEND parent, whenever I can squeeze them in.

The Monday Corner is where I share my hobbies, from sewing and cross stitch to gardening, thrifting, art, and small creative projects. It’s a calm, low pressure space focused on enjoying the process rather than chasing perfection.

The name The Monday Corner came from the phrase love Mondays– not in a productivity sense, but as a reminder to enjoy what you’re doing. Monday comes around once a week, and for me it’s a gentle nudge to make time for the things I enjoy, even in the middle of everyday life. Using the name Monday also allows me to be flexible in what I am sharing and not pinned down to one niche like say if 'Lorna Paints' was my 'brand' name.

At the heart of The Monday Corner is the belief that hobbies are self care in disguise. Taking time to make, grow, and create is a way of looking after yourself, even when it doesn’t look like traditional self care. You don’t need to be good at something for it to matter. If it brings comfort or joy, it counts.

I make videos on YouTube as a hobby in itself– a place to explore, share, and connect without pressure. It’s a way for me to try out creative projects, experiment with new skills like editing, making thumbnails, and building this website, and see what happens along the way.

I don’t expect the channel to get big. My goal isn’t views or viral content– it’s building a community with similar interests, enjoying the process, and just maybe, earning a little pocket money along the way.
